Reunited

Years ago I took a trip to New Orleans with my mom. On our return home trip, we stopped somewhere to eat that had a country store. I bought the cutest mug, but through the years it was one of the few that broke. The other day I was out shopping with my daughter, when lo and behold, there is that mug! Naturally I bought it. Here's to hoping this one doesn't get to meet its predecessor!

I am enjoying a black, green, and oolong tea.

Mixed blessings

Hubby took some vacation days last week. They are always a mixed blessing. On the con side, his being home disrupts my weekday routine, especially when the vacation is a staycation rather than going somewhere. The pro is that my mornings are much more relaxed. I know I don't have to get up sooner than I'd like to see what needs handled for the day, because I know he'll have taken care of it. I'm not suggesting we have daily upsets, but like the Picard meme, sometimes I feel like I'll look at my phone and query "Damage control".

However, another thing about him being home is I am more likely to eat breakfast, because I can do it leisurely. Other mornings I get up and tend not to eat, having my first meal at lunch, because I'm busy from the time my feet hit the floor. When he's home, I'll sit in bed and read for awhile, before getting up to start my day. I guess in reality, his disrupting my weekday routine is sounding more like a blessing!

Today's breakfast tea was a peach cobbler - a black tea with peach, cinnamon, and apple.

At long last

We're finally getting another second refrigerator. Yeah, I know, privilege speaking. But it's a luxury and I love it. See, I'm a vegan, and my husband is not. Never the twain shall meet when it comes to refrigerator/freezer space. We had one years ago, but it died a slow, stinky death. We have one of those mini fridges right now, but it is insufficient to our cause. So, today, in preparation, I started scrubbing out the main fridge. I have to, you see. Meat bleeds when left in a fridge to thaw, and it's DISGUSTING. It drips on everything. Oh, yeah, something underneath it would have helped. I think you feel me now.

So now I'm relaxing with a nice hot cuppa black tea with caramel nougat. Go me.

I love my cats

I really do. Even when they cannot pass up an opportunity to destroy the jigsaw puzzle I am working on.

After reassembling it - again - I'm gonna sit back and sip a black tea with black cherry. And chill.

So thrifty

Goodwill loves me. I imagine the employees there smiling as I walk in and hand over a large trash bag of donations, and then proceed into the store to shop. I figure if I'm adding to my *stuff*, I should also be contributing to other people's, lol. I tend to go on the senior days, and see a lot of the same faces when I do. Hey, we love our sales!

Recently I bought a mug that the cashier couldn't stop talking about. She said she had seen it and had fallen in love with it. I almost, almost, felt guilty for buying it. So today I am enjoying a black peach brulee tea out of that mug.

Soon

When my daughter moved out, I claimed her room as my "play room". I haven't been able to really do with it what I want, because it's become, out of necessity, somewhat of a catch all room. I'm sure that will change soon enough.

I even have a tea maker ready to set up for that room. I'll move some of my mugs to use there. This is one:

Today I'm drinking another sinful tea. A black tea with chocolate rose. Heaven!

And you thought my mug buying days were over

Not even close. But I guess the one I'm featuring today was one I didn't buy, so much as acquired. It was my dad's. He didn't use it as a mug, but a pencil holder. We found it on his desk. And since he was a master mechanic, it makes total sense he'd have such a mug. I'm not using it to hold pencils.

I was out shopping the other day and came across this box of teas that sound kind of decadent. I'll be sharing some with you. Today it's a black tea with blood orange.

Not sure you can tell, but the bottom part of this mug is a tire. So cute! (My dad would have rolled his eyes at that). Rather fitting, as well, because I've been working outside, which includes doing some things in our garage. And, and...I'm gonna be attempting my first auto repair soon. Go me!

Getting organized

Later today, I am hoping a cabinet gets delivered that will finally provide a good place to store all of my mugs. Currently they occupy way too many shelves in my pantry, and I'd love to free up that space for another collection - cookbooks.

With this in mind, I've been drinking tea (of course!), but lately have been leaning more toward the more regular types of plain black tea. Today it is one called London Tea.

And, no, this isn't the mug I am drinking it out of, just one of two oversized mugs I've gotten over the last couple of years. They are waaay too big for sipping tea; they can hold at least an entire pot of tea and probably much more. I have them because they make me happy.

Which, after you see this one, you may question my sanity.

It's okay to self indulge

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending a live musical performance with my daughter. I'm not a big fan of live music, but this was a blues band, and I figured it would fit best with my life right now. I have to say, the singer, Annika Chambers, has a fabulous voice! And it felt good to get out and not have to socialize, just sit back and listen.

As an introvert, I recharge through silence. No, attending a live music performance certainly does not qualify as silence, but not having to really engage with anyone, or at least very little, is soothing.

Today I am drinking a Ceylon Uva black tea. The Uva district is a remote area, and is exposed to both the winds of the northeast and southwest monsoons. They say this gives the tea an exotically aromatic flavor.

All I know is music, and tea, both soothe my soul.

Still going, but winding down

I'm still posting my mugs, and haven't finished yet. But the end is finally in sight. So today I am drinking a black tea with pumpkin spice, and reflecting on my mug obsession. Priorities.

It's November?

Being busy made November pass too quickly. I mean, for someone like me, that's not cool. Today I am pretending Halloween didn't come and go.

My tea choice is unusual, but delicious. It's a black tea with peach and mango and...saffron.

Coincidences

Last week my husband and I attended a very delightful performance by Tommy Tune. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to his stories and songs, and watching him tap dance. My daughter brought a bottle of wine and I brought wine glasses, and we finally got to try out my new wine and cheese picnic set.

So I was looking up his bio, when I realized he made his debut in the musical Baker Street. Baker Street just so happens to be the name of the bar we went to last night for supper and a beer. That's coincidence number one.

The second was my mug. It's clearly a Disney mug, and Tommy Tune appeared in a tv special to promote the opening of a ride at Disney World. That's coincidence number two.

My tea provide no coincidences. Oh well.  It's a black tea with lemon.

Dusting Off

What a night! Dusting off my hands, brushing off my pants, taking a breath. Today I will recover. Tomorrow? Tomorrow I will shoulder on. I will remember to spread love.

Today it is a black tea with raspberry.

Too fast

We're already half way through the month - it's going by too fast! I have been watching, almost daily, some kind of ghost related show. They are like my secret pleasure, even if I don't necessarily believe. I also bought myself a new witch hat. I totally rock it.

Today I am drinking a spicy cranberry black tea.

Purrfect

My friends all know now that my husband has a new love in his life. I four legged little furry creamsicle colored handful. And he is absolutely smitten.

So today I am drinking a black tea with peach, apple, and cinnamon. I am keeping with the Hallowe'en theme for the month. Peach tea to honor the little furball, in a black cat themed mug to honor the month long festivities.

Just breathe

I have spent a great deal of time chauffeuring people back and forth from one appointment to the next. I do it happily, but I'm also glad to have a day to myself, so I can just breathe.

Breathe in deeply the scent of a delicious tea. Today it is a golden peach black tea.

Winnie the Pooh

I grew up with Winnie the Pooh cartoons, and I miss them. Such a sweet, simple life. I have a small collection of things Pooh, beginning from a little Pooh bank I got for Christmas the year I was five. I happen upon the occasional Pooh picture frame when I'm out treasure hunting. And this mug is one of my favorites, too.

It's not an English tea, but it's still lovely. A black tea with Irish cream flavoring.

Don't blink

Today I am enjoying a black tea with ginger and chocolate. If you understand my mug, you'll also get the ginger reference. It also means you are AWESOME!

Chocolate!

I just bought this tea called Death by Chocolate that is to die for! (see what I did there?) No, seriously, it is delicious! And when the day has been rainy and I can't do much else, except, you know, drink tea and read books, well, suffice it to say it is A GREAT DAY!

Let's try this again

Man, I'm totally off my game. I had set out to have a daily post, but didn't count on life having other plans. Yeah, I know that sounds kind of lame. But it's true. And, well, that's life, I guess. But, noticing that I have already posted around 100 tea mugs, and since the original idea was to post a mug a day...

My friend who initially suggested this blog to me insisted I have at least a year's worth of mugs. I don't think that's actually the case, but dang, I've even surprised myself with how many mugs I actually DO own. And I keep buying more, so...

I have an addiction.

Today I am enjoying a black tea with chocolate mint. I noticed I have quite a wealth of chocolate teas, so you'll get to live vicariously thru me.
